With spring on the horizon, the forest begins to come alive with birdsong. Though woodpeckers do not actually sing like songbirds do, they do have their own unique ways of communicating.
You’re invited to experience the forest come alive with these tree-loving birds, and to learn more about what makes woodpeckers unique. This hike will introduce you to the various species of woodpeckers that you may spot in southwest Michigan. It’s also a great opportunity to spend time in community, sharpen your identification skills, build your life list, and expand your bird knowledge.
All skill levels are welcome. There will also be complementary chai.
