You’re never too young to start birding! Engage your little one in the outdoors this month by taking them on a bird hike just for them. Fun, engaging, and educational, this hike will spark your child's curiosity about nature and the birds around them!
We will wander around Milham Park looking for birds and bird nests while learning about bird behavior and habitat. Participants are encouraged to bring their own small notebook and pencil to record the morning’s observations and begin their very own bird lifelist. Once we complete our hike, we will take some time to document our observations in our bird journals.
This hike is appropriate for kids ages 4-12. Parents must be in tow. This is a great way to engage your little one in the practice of mindfulness as we notice and take notes on the birds of the forest and feed our sense of wonder and curiosity.
Ticket price is $15 per child (parent is included in this price). Please make sure to wear close toed shoes, bring anything your little one may need for the morning (snacks, water, etc), and to dress appropriately for the weather. If you have a pair of binoculars, please bring them, as there will be a limited amount of binoculars to share.
The walk is easy for kids, and there will be very little elevation change. We will meet in the parking lot of Milham Park, located at 607 E Kilgore Road.
